Moving Week
What fun activities for kids can you find in Helsinki? Where to go with small children on weekends? What to do on a rainy day? Pienten Helsinki's weekly series looks for activity tips and suggests child-friendly places in Helsinki and the surrounding area. The website targets pre-school children and families with young children. The weekly “Where to go this week” feature is unfortunately quite different and limited this week 29. The reason is that the Pienten Helsinki team is moving to a new home, so evenings and nights are spent packing moving boxes instead of writing articles. However, the week offers lots of fun events, so I want to highlight at least the week’s highlights for you. Pienten Helsinki’s “Where to go this week” article suggests what’s happening in the city for families with pre-school children.
For an autumn outing: Pienten Helsinki’s previously published autumn day trip tips are timely again: go on a picnic on the top of Kruunuvuori, on a mushroom foraging trip and to see horses at autumn Talosalo or on an early autumn adventure to Suomenlinna. To the theatre with kids - you’ll find tips for the theatre season here.
Updates on the site: Pienten Helsinki and site advertising. We’re looking for ways to finance the site’s maintenance costs and are testing relevant advertising on the site for the first time. If you’re interested in advertising space, feel free to get in touch and I’ll tell you more (mari at pientenhelsinki.fi).
FEEDBACK: Compliments, complaints, comments and suggestions: tell us what you think about Pienten Helsinki! Or feel free to contact us: share your ideas, opinions, tips or suggest collaboration! mari (a) pientenhelsinki.fi Article cover photo Oil Tank 368 on Kruunuvuori, which is open to the public on autumn weekends.

New: Pienten Helsinki as an app on your phone!
Pienten Helsinki now also works as a PWA app. You can install Pienten Helsinki on your Android or iPhone simply by opening the site in Chrome or Safari browser and selecting "add to home screen" from the sharing menu. A PWA app differs from a traditional app in that you don't need to install it separately from the App Store or similar. In practice, the content is exactly the same as in the browser, but theoretically loads faster. Pienten Helsinki doesn't require registration to work now, and never will.
