Exhibition Tips for Children

All About Glass Exhibition at Annantalo from November 11, 2022 to February 25, 2023. In the interactive All About Glass exhibition created through cooperation between the Finnish Glass Museum and Annantalo, visitors explore glass and its many dimensions.

Square / Cube Exhibition at Annantalo from October 20, 2022 to March 4, 2023. Is a square too rigid or a cube too angular? What if you put them in motion? Annantalo's autumn exhibition presents and at the same time doesn't present – it opens the door to an abstract world!

Art Clinic: Wool Ball
Today we felt wool with all our senses. Felting wool is wonderfully soft, colorful and has an interesting scent. But where does wool come from? Art Clinic for 3–5-year-olds at Annantalo (Annankatu 30) on Mondays at 10 and 12:30. The family's younger children, babies and toddlers, can also join in experiencing the atmosphere of the art clinic. Free admission.

MLL Myllypuro and Metropolia HyMy Village Family Café at Metropolia facilities in Myllypuro (next to the metro station) on Tuesdays from 9–11. Each time also includes varying programs for families. Free admission.

Family Fun Sessions in the Pallomylly indoor hall at Myllypuro Sports Park (Pikajuoksijankuja 9). In family ball games, all children under 9 move on artificial turf with their own adult. Free play, gymnastics, running or practicing walking. Family Fun Sessions on Tuesdays from 9:30–11:30 and 4–6 p.m. from January 9 to April 28, 2023 (not week 8). Free admission.

Free admission to the Design Museum (Korkeavuorenkatu 23) on the last Tuesday of the month from 11–20.

Workshop theme: From Dot to Dot – Embroidery Workshop. Create small decorations on fabric. Materials are available from Vuotalo, but if you have a specific piece of fabric or clothing you want to decorate, bring it with you. The technique is prickly: children under 8 with an adult. Free admission.

For babies and parents! Maunula Baby Cinema on Friday at 10.
February's Maunula Baby Cinema film is Little Women, directed by Greta Gerwig in 2019.
Maunula House youth center common room on the 2nd floor (Metsäpurontie 4) transforms into a cinema for babies and parents. Film screenings are baby-friendly, but the films are selected to suit adult taste. The sound is quieter than normal and the room has dim lighting. Facilities to help with baby care include a water point and microwave in the space, as well as a changing table in Maunula House's lobby. Coffee and tea are available. The common room has sofas, armchairs and a large mat on the floor. Adding your own mat would add comfort for baby. You can also bring a baby carrier/car seat where your baby can sleep during the film. Free admission.

Children's Inclusive Dance Class at Annantalo (Annankatu 30) dance studio on Saturday at 2 p.m. DanceAbility Finland ry's dance classes for all kinds of children offer children and their close adults togetherness, the joy of movement and the opportunity to meet new people. Classes are open to all children and their close adults regardless of disability or non-disability. Instruction lasts one hour. Maestro Molto Concert at Malmitalo's Malmisali (Ala-Malmin Square 1) on Saturday at 3 p.m. Maestro Molto dances and sings songs from his TV series and teaches new songs to everyone in his Come Along! concert. Duration 45 minutes. Tickets 8.50 €.

Kino Helios: Håkan Bråkan Film at Malmitalo Small Theater (Ala-Malmin Square 1) on Saturday at 3 p.m. Håkan Bråkan is left – at least in his own mind – in the care of the world's most boring babysitter Amanda while his parents travel to a reception for Håkan's Karin's mother's work.
