I've been asked who I am and whose payroll I'm on as I write and maintain the Pienten Helsinki (Little Helsinki) website.

I'm a mother of two young children, currently at home with my kids (situation in 2017). Pienten Helsinki is a hobby and personal project for me in the midst of everyday life. One more reason to explore Helsinki with my children a bit more.

The events and activity tips highlighted on Pienten Helsinki are all things I could visit with my own children or that we've visited and found worthwhile. The website's event listing isn't complete, but it's carefully selected and filtered with the target audience in mind.
All the images on the site are my own, taken from trips around the Helsinki metropolitan area, unless otherwise stated.

I write Pienten Helsinki out of love for children's culture and for the sake of the children. At the same time, I hope that my experience of moving about on children's terms could inspire and help someone else decide whether to venture somewhere with their kids. If these tips save even one cabin-bound parent and bring a smile to one child's face, I believe I've succeeded.

I hope the website brings joy to those moving around with children and that the tips help in everyday life.
