An introduction to playgrounds and play sites in Helsinki
Pienten Helsinki's series on playgrounds and play sites aims to introduce the city's playgrounds and play sites through pictures and information, making it as easy as possible to venture out and discover a previously unknown park. The first playground articles were published in July 2017, and this project will continue for quite some time.There are 69 playgrounds that offer guided activities on weekdays both outdoors and indoors. The activities in the playgrounds are open to all children and families. For older children, the playgrounds offer after-school clubs and vacation activities. During evenings and weekends, the playgrounds are freely available to use, though without any guided activities.
In addition to the playgrounds, there are over 200 play sites that do not offer guided activities.
