An introduction to playgrounds and play sites in Helsinki

Pienten Helsinki’s series on playgrounds on play sites aims to introduce the city’s playgrounds and play sites by way of pictures and information, so that embarking on an adventure to and finding a previously unknown park is as easy as possible. The first playgrounds articles were published in July 2017 and this project is set to continue for quite some time.

There are 69 playgrounds that provide guided activities on weekdays outside and inside. The activities in the playgrounds are open for all children and families. For older kids the playgrounds offer after-school clubs and vacation activities. During the evenings and on the weekends the playgrounds are freely available to use, though without any guided activities.

In addition to the playgrounds there are over 200 play sites which do not provide guided activities.
