Playground Hunt 2018

During the summer, Helsinki’s city playgrounds offer meaningful activities for many families with children in Helsinki. Playground activities consist of both guided activities for small children and families as well as free park lunches for children under 16 years old. Did you know that you can visit 66 different playgrounds in Helsinki?

The clues for the playground hunts can be found on this page. The clues are currently only in Finnish.

During the summer of 2018, you can find playground hunts in several different playgrounds in Helsinki. The clues to the various hunts can be found on the page www.pientenhelsinki.fi/puistopiilo. The link becomes active on 12.6 at 8 a.m. and is available until the beginning of August.

The playground hunt is a type of treasure hunt where your task is to find treasures hidden in different playgrounds around Helsinki by following written clues. Unlike geocaching, you don’t need phones or coordinates; instead, you need keen eyes and a good head on your shoulders to find your way to the hiding spots.

The idea is simple: in each playground there is a small plastic box hidden. On the lid of the box is a logo with the name “puistopiilo/playground hunt”. Inside the box you’ll find a small booklet and a pen. When you find the box, you can write a small message and today’s date. Remember to put the lid back on the box and place it back where you found it.

You can find all the clues at www.pientenhelsinki.fi/puistopiilo as well as on the bulletin board in each playground. The hiding spots are in the playground area but not indoors or in the play structures.

Come on an adventure to a sunny Helsinki; play in a playground you know well or discover a new one. Which playground hunt gets the most visitors and is there anyone who can find all the hiding spots?

If you’d like, you can share pictures, tell us about your adventure, or give feedback on the project using the hashtag #puistopiilo #pientenhelsinki #leikkipuistot. Little Helsinki follows the project and you can also find the event on Facebook.

Little Helsinki wants to work together with playground activities to encourage children and adults to explore Helsinki, discover new playgrounds, and create opportunities for a playful adventure for both big and small!

If you have questions or find a broken playground hunt, feel free to get in touch; [email protected]
