Pienten Helsingissä is launching an innovative urban tourism concept as hospitality student Heidi Säynätkari creates city trails for families in Helsinki neighborhoods as her thesis project.

The Haaga area is easily accessible by many different buses and all trains stopping at Huopalahti and North Haaga. Haaga offers families beautiful nature, many playgrounds, and the city's best family-friendly café.
Spend your morning playing in a playground, pick up delicious sushi to go, and enjoy it on the rocks. Afternoon coffee and play happen at the city's coziest family café, and as the evening sun sets, head out to enjoy the atmosphere of Alpine Rose Park.

CAFE TORPET

Kauppalantie 48
A gem for families with children, Cafe Torpet, is located next to Huopalahti train station. At the café you can enjoy a daily soup lunch and small treats from the display case. Special diets are well catered for. The café's special feature is a wonderful playground! Parents can enjoy their coffee on soft sofas while children play nearby.

FAMIA

Tunnelitie 2
Famia is a small sushi restaurant where you can eat in or take away really delicious sushi portions. How about grabbing a picnic here and taking it to the nearby rocks, which have a view over the city?

HAAGA ROCKS

Kauppalankuja
At these rocks you can enjoy a picnic and sun on a warm day or just come to admire the views. The easiest access to the rocks is along Kauppalankuja, but note that strollers cannot go all the way up.

ALPINE ROSE PARK

Laajasuontie 37
Alpine Rose Park is one of Helsinki's most beautiful places. The entire park area is crisscrossed with easy-access paths, so you can also visit with a stroller. In early summer, thousands of alpine roses bloom, but the park is also a wonderful spot for a small outing at other times of year.

LAAJASUON SPORTS PARK

Poutunkuja 8
This park will delight everyone interested in climbing, hanging, playing, and running around!

ISONEVA PLAYGROUND

Isonevantie 16
A cozy and traditional playground, especially suitable for the family's smallest members. The playground is partially fenced. A wading pool in summer.

SOUTH HAAGA LIBRARY

Isonevantie 16 B
South Haaga Library offers the opportunity to enjoy changing art exhibitions in connection with a library visit. The library has its own area for children. The library is located right next to Isoneva playground.

HOTEL HAAGA

Nuijamiestentie 10
What if you stayed overnight in Haaga? Hotel Haaga is located on good transport routes, near the Hämeenlinna highway. The hotel's sauna and swimming pool facilities are available to guests (note: no children's pool) and bicycles can be rented from the hotel.
