Playpark Picnicking in Summer 2023

Playpark picnicking has ended for this summer on 4.8.2023.

The City of Helsinki's playpark summer dining tradition continues this summer as well. Free lunch is offered to children and young people under 16 years old in the open playparks of the City of Helsinki. Playpark dining starts this year on the first day of school holidays on 5.6.2023 and ends on 4.8.2023. The 81st summer of playpark dining begins on the first day of summer holidays for schoolchildren. Helsinki offers free lunch to children and young people under 16 years old in open playparks on weekdays at 12 o'clock from 5.6.-4.8.2023.

To participate in park dining, you need to bring your own deep plate, eating utensils and drinks. The lunch menu features various soups and casserole dishes, and for example bringing your own packed bread sandwiches is a good addition to lunch.

No advance registration is needed to participate in park dining, and lunch is available in all open playparks of the City of Helsinki. It's a good idea to arrive early, as the amount of food is limited. Please note that some playparks are closed for part or even the entire summer, so you should check the status of your local playpark from the summer activities map below the article.
