Children's Traffic Town Summer 2025

Children's Traffic Town operations paused in August 2024 when construction work next to the traffic town interrupted activities. A new traffic park is scheduled to open in Rastila in autumn 2026. During the break, in summer 2025, children's traffic education will move to playgrounds and Tattarisuon motor hall.

Children's Traffic Town at Auroranportti 2 is out of service during the academic years 2024–2026 due to construction work in the area. According to current information, Helsinki's second Children's Traffic Town will open next to Rastila's camping area in autumn 2026 (not in 2025, as previously reported). Traffic Town operations are also planned to return to Auroranport, so in the future Helsinki will have two traffic parks. From Pienten Helsinki's perspective, it's good that Helsinki will get a second traffic town, but more than two years without activities feels wrong from children's perspective. In general, the amount of summer activities and events aimed at children has decreased year after year in Helsinki.

Traffic Town will organize small-scale traffic education in playgrounds during summer (schedule below) and also invites pedal car driving in June on Mondays at Tattarisuon outdoor track.

Auroranport Traffic Town is available for free use with your own equipment for now, but be aware of the noise and heavy traffic from the large construction site next door, especially on weekdays.

Children's Traffic Town will visit Helsinki city playgrounds during summer 2025 according to the schedule below. You can participate in the sessions according to your own schedule and no advance registration is required. Free admission.

Pedal car driving at Tattarisuon

At Tattarisuon motor hall's OUTDOOR track (Tattarisuontie 30-32) you can drive pedal cars on summer Mondays according to the schedule below. You can reach Tattarisuon motor hall within walking distance by buses 553, 77, and 69. There are also parking spaces nearby. Free admission, no advance registration required.
Update 2.6.2025: Tattarisuon pedal car driving will take place, confirmed.
